Eloise Kay Minick Staples, known to family and friends as Kay, was born December 3, 1939 in Las Animas, Colorado and passed peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Kennewick, Washington, at the age of 86.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Staples; her daughter, Kimberly Snyder McCracken; her parents, Robert E. Minick and Eva Minick; and her siblings, Robert O. Minick and Mickey Minick Johnson.
She is survived by her sons, Dana Snyder and Theodore Snyder; and by six grandchildren, who brought her great pride and joy.
Kay served the community as the elected Benton County Clerk from 1987 until her retirement in 2005, a role she held with dedication and integrity. Outside of her public service, she was an avid golfer and loved traveling by RV to golfing destinations, embracing both the journey and the game she enjoyed so much.
Known for her steady presence, sharp mind, and love of family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
