MARILYN ADAIRE HILL

December 23, 1936 — June 27, 2025

BENTON CITY

Marilyn Adaire Hill, 88, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on June 27, 2025, in Benton City, Washington. She was born on December 23, 1936, in Kenmare, North Dakota, where her early experiences shaped the steady values that would guide her throughout a long and meaningful life.

Marilyn’s journey took her through several states—including Wisconsin and Oregon—before settling permanently in Benton City in 1977. After graduating from Pasco High School in 1954, she attended nursing school at Sacred Heart in Spokane, completing two years of study. She later owned and operated a successful business for 23 years, a reflection of her determination and practical approach to life.

In 1954, Marilyn married Ed Hill, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and tradition. She found joy in gardening, sewing, and spending time with her growing family. Marilyn also loved to travel, visiting all corners of the continent and often reminding others that there was so much beauty to see here, she never felt the need to go abroad.

Her quiet presence and steady support left a lasting impression on those around her. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and community.

She is survived by her sons Glen, Rick, Don Hill and his wife Kathy of Washington; and Bryan Hill and his husband Paul of Oregon. Marilyn was a proud grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother to 23.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Hill, her daughter Kristi Cowart, and her grandson Jason Hill.

A service honoring Marilyn’s life will be held on July 10, 2025 at 10am at evergreen cemetery, after there will be a celebration of life July 10, 2025 at 12pm at her United Methodist Church of Benton City. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful life she led, sharing memories and honoring the profound impact she had on each of our lives.

Marilyn lived with purpose, gave her best to those around her, and found contentment in the life she built. Her legacy will live on in the generations she helped shape.
