Mark Peter Berg

Mark Peter Berg was born on April 14, 1956, in Harvey, North Dakota, and passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Richland, Washington, surrounded by his loving family.

Mark married the love of his life, Jenny Darlene Harris, on June 7, 1974, in Amarillo, Texas. In 1981, he and his family moved to Prosser, Washington, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love, and community. Mark worked as a construction project superintendent for Kiewit Pacific in Vancouver for 41 years, commuting home on weekends to be with his family.

Mark was known for his warm personality and ability to make friends easily. He had a passion for learning and loved hearing about other people's adventures. He was a skilled carpenter and took immense pride in the home he built himself.

He loved hosting get-togethers with friends and family and delighted in celebrating life’s special moments. Mark treasured stories and memories, always eager to share them with anyone willing to listen.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; his son, Shane, his daughters, Cristie and Misty; his brothers, Daniel of Prosser (and wife Vicki) and David Berg (and wife Rhonda) of Moses Lake; his sisters, Susan of California and Lottie Berg of Libby, Montana. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as special lifelong friends: Tom Nishimura, Jim Johnson, and Dave Andre.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Frank Berg; his mother, Inez Berg Stegall; his stepfather, T.M. Stegall; and his brother, Frank Jr.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PMat the Prosser Funeral Home. A small gathering will follow at the Berg family home: 165104 W. North River Road Prosser, WA 99350
