VICIA REE ROBUCK

November 9, 1926 — February 6, 2026

Prosser

Vicia Ree Robuck (Vicki) entered into rest on February 6, 2026 She was 99 years

She was born in Ellisville, Mississippi to Wade C. and Celest Cross on November 9, 1926. After graduation from high school in 1944 and while attending nurses training, she met Jim Nelson, a soldier preparing for deployment during World War II. They were married a few days before he shipped out to Europe. In the fall of 1945, she moved with her newborn son to Prosser, Washington to await Jim’s return. Vicki and Jim lived in Prosser for 48 years until his death 1993. Together they operated Nelson’s Jewelry and Trophies. In 1993, she moved to the Tri-Cities where she met and married Art Robuck in 1995. Together they lived in Kennewick until his death in 2007. She remained in Kennewick until her passing.

Vicki led a varied and interesting life. During her childhood, she grew up on a rural farm spending most of her time outdoors helping her father on the farm. While in Prosser, she raised three sons (and a couple of other nephews who came to live with them) and worked in the trophy business. She and Jim loved to take their trailer and go camping with family and friends, even if it was just over night. It was rare for them to be home on a weekend. After she married Art, her life changed to staying close to home and a dinner out was “just down the street” instead of driving for an hour for shopping and dinner. After Art passed, her focus changed to being close to home where she enjoyed playing cards, reading, and crocheting. One of the greatest joys in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren while watching them grow.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Tressie Norton and Retha Busby; two husbands, Jim Nelson and Art Robuck; as well as her eldest son, Dick Nelson. She is survived by her sister, Merita Robertson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Nelson of Gig Harbor, Washington and Ken and Merry Nelson of Enumclaw, Washington; eight grandchildren, Shanna Shaw, Corina Plummer, Carl Armstrong, David Nelson, Leslie Harris, Jamie Davis, Corey Koch, and Lacey Lingenfelter; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends she has made in the last 99 years.

A funeral service for Vicki will be held on February 19,2026 at Prosser Cemetery. Arrangements will be made through the Prosser Funeral Home.
